Course Overview:

This course is designed to help you prepare for the AZ-120 Planning and Administering Microsoft Azure for SAP Workloads exam. Even if you don’t plan to take the exam, these courses will help you understand what is required to host SAP in the Azure cloud.

The AZ-120 exam is the only requirement for becoming a Microsoft Certified: Azure for SAP Workloads Specialist. The course is aimed at those familiar with SAP who want to learn more about Azure’s Infrastructure as a Service options for hosting SAP workloads and how to migrate from an on-premises environment to the Azure cloud.

Course Prerequisites

You should have extensive experience and knowledge of the following applications and services: SAP high-performance Analytic Appliance (HANA), SAP Business Suite 4 (S/4) HANA, SAP NetWeaver, SAP Business Warehouse 4 (BW/4) HANA, servers for SAP applications and databases, Azure portal, Azure Marketplace, and Azure Resource Manager templates.

You should also have experience with:

  • Virtualization
  • Cloud infrastructure
  • Storage structures
  • High availability design
  • Disaster recovery design
  • Data protection concepts
  • Networking

Course Objective

  • Design and Implement an Infrastructure to Support SAP Workloads
  • Migrate SAP Workloads to Azure
  • Design and Implement High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HA/DR)
  • Maintain SAP Workloads on Azure

This course is for Azure Administrators who migrate and manage SAP solutions on Azure. Azure Administrators manage the cloud services that span storage, networking, and compute cloud capabilities, with a deep understanding of each service across the full IT lifecycle. They take end-user requests for new cloud applications and make recommendations on services to use for optimal performance and scale, as well as provision, size, monitor and adjust as appropriate. This role requires communicating and coordinating with vendors. Azure Administrators use the Azure Portal and as they become more proficient they use PowerShell and the Command Line Interface.

In these roles, you implement solutions by partnering with:

  • Cloud administrators
  • Cloud database administrators
  • Clients

32 hours

Azure recommends that you should have at least six months of hands-on experience administering the Microsoft Azure environment, along with the following skills:

  • A strong understanding of core Azure services, Azure workloads, security, and governance.
  • Experience using PowerShell, Azure CLI, Azure portal, and Azure Resource Manager templates.
  • If you are an administrator in the cloud or an IT professional with the recommended Azure knowledge and want to grow your career in Azure administrator roles, then passing this exam is crucial.
  • If you are an aspiring Azure administrator or you want to specialize in the Azure administrator certification path then the skills obtained from preparing for this exam are extremely important.
  • In general, if you are a software administrator, cloud administrator, software engineer, and cloud engineer or work in related roles then you can take up this exam.
